Who We Are & How We Operate
The Facts Desk (thefactsdesk.com) is written and edited by Raushan Kumar. I founded it in 2026 to cross-check developing news against primary documents — government releases, official statements, court filings, regulatory data — before publishing, rather than relaying secondhand claims.
This is a small, direct operation. I don't have a large newsroom, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. What I do have is a process: locate the original document, check it against at least one independent source, and cite both openly so you can check my work yourself.
Verification Workflow
Every report goes through the same steps before it goes live:
- Story identification — developing news is flagged from official wires, government notices, and public records.
- Primary document check — I locate the original source: a gazette notice, a press release, a court filing, a peer-reviewed study.
- Independent cross-check — the claim is checked against at least one other independent, non-affiliated source before publication.
- Transparent sourcing — every verified article lists its references in the "Editorial Sources & Fact-Check References" section, with working external links.
